After his military service Rod returned to Detroit where he completed a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/psychology at Wayne State University. Prior to that, Rod majored in Asian Studies at the University of Maryland’s Asian Division, where he became proficient in several languages. Rod did his graduate studies at the University of Toledo and earned a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Rod is also a graduate of the Midwest Academy, a leading national training institute that advances movements for social change by teaching a strategic, rigorous, results-oriented approach to social action and organization building. Further, Rod has experience as a Registered Securities Representative with FINRA (formerly NASD) as well as a licensed Financial Services Professional and Investment Advisor.

Drawing on nearly 20 years of experience, Rod is committed to helping families, small businesses, and nonprofit corporations succeed by providing the best possible legal services in a timely manner and with the greatest possible attention to the details that support client success and satisfaction. Rod has been acknowledged for delivering win-win outcomes in corporate litigation matters. He has a history of successfully negotiating settlements based upon sound and resourceful pretrial strategies, and winning dismissals in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Rod’s thorough knowledge of courts, nonprofit corporations, and closely held businesses arises from nearly 20 years of successful leadership and service, including the Michigan Supreme Court and multimillion-dollar corporations where he earned a reputation for employing client retention strategies that build loyalty and enhance attorney-client relationships.

Rod was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where he graduated from Thomas M. Cooley High School. After high school Rod served three (3) tours of duty in the United States Marines, where he volunteered for several special assignments and received numerous decorations and honors.
