Family & Estate Planning Lawyer
Flat-Fee, Mobile, & Client Centric
Hello and welcome! My name is Ryan McLaughlin and I'm the founding attorney at McLaughlin Law. I focus primarily on Family Law and Estate Planning.

Within the family law arena, I specialize in divorce. I represent clients individually, but really encourage couples going through separation to consider mediation. Often, if lines of communication are still open, it's the cheapest and most satisfying option for both parties. Child custody and division of marital property are the twin pillars of dissolution of marriage. I'm experienced in helping both parties to a divorce reach agreements that are fair, satisfying, and don't waste time in court. That said, I’ve handled everything from asylum petition in the immigration arena to drafting incorporation documents for urban farmers and other small businesses.

In the Estate Planning arena, I see my job as an educator as much as an attorney. Fewer than 37% of Americans have wills. As a young parent, I cannot fathom a court deciding what would happen to my daugher, should something happen to either my wife or myself. I repeat this antidote constantly to clients, especially clients with young families. All of my estate planning services are flat fee. The most commonly used product that I offer is an all-in-one bundle that includes a simple will, living will, financial power of attorney, and health care power of attorney.

I approach the practice of law with two goals in mind: efficiency and satisfaction. Unlike many law firms, I'm entirely paperless. From faxes to client interaction, McLaughlin Law is a next-generation law office. This means we're flat-fee, mobile, and client-centric.

As you may guess, flat fee means that, from wills to custom contracts to divorce representation, you can see all of my prices in advance. No surprises or hourly-rates that keep accumulating without results.

Non-traditionally, McLaughlin Law is also a mobile law practice, sometimes known as a virtual law practice. Mobile means that in lieu of a brick-and-mortar law office, I meet clients over phone, video chat, at their homes, in coffeeshops, etc. Since I don't have all the extra overhead associated with an office space, I pass tremendous savings on to the client. Since I've begun practicing, clients rave about this—not only because it offers tremendous financial savings, but because it's so convenient for their busy schedules.
