I am an immigration attorney in San Antonio and am happy to be associated with Lincoln-Goldfinch Law – Abogados de Inmigración. Originally from McAllen, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, I have always been aware of and interested in issues related to immigrants. My wife and her family are immigrants and I have seen the positive impacts immigrants have in my community.

I am a graduate of St. Mary’s University law school and began working on immigration cases during my third year of studies. After graduating I worked for a non-profit immigration law office (RAICES) and later opened my own office. I practice both affirmative family immigration cases and removal defense cases in immigration courts.

I am proud of my profession and of my colleagues with whom I often seek help from and provide assistance to when possible.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my 11 year old soccer playing daughter, with her 8 year old swimmer sister, and with my wife.

Born in Jalisco, Mexico, and raised between California and Nebraska, I bring a personal and empathetic perspective to my work as an immigration attorney.

Since 2008, I’ve been committed to serving immigrant communities—first as an AmeriCorps member with Lutheran Immigration Services, and later as an attorney beginning in 2014. I’ve represented clients in removal proceedings across multiple states, including those in detention, and I’m honored by the trust they place in me during life-changing moments.

Outside of law, I enjoy creating floral art through drawing and painting, a practice that keeps me grounded and inspired. My goal is to make the immigration process more compassionate, clear, and human.

I’m an immigration attorney focused on deportation defense, family-based immigration, and humanitarian relief. My journey began as a legal assistant, which inspired me to pursue law school and dedicate my career to advocacy.

I earned my degrees from the University of North Texas and Texas Southern University, and I was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 2022.

Outside of work, I mentor young Latinas, volunteer with nonprofits, and enjoy nature walks with my daughter, romantic comedies, and spending time with my family. My favorite color is light green.

I wanted to work in the field of social justice when I started law school at the University of Texas. I knew I would be able to help in the Immigration Clinic because I speak Spanish, so I decided to enroll. As a student at the Clinic, my first assignment was to visit the Hutto immigrant detention center. There, I met with a detained family of asylum seekers who had a five-month-old baby girl. She was wearing a onesie issued by the prison.

Her mom asked me if I would hold her during our meeting because I smelled like the outside world, and when I got up to leave our meeting, she asked me if I could sneak her baby out with me and take care of her until her parents could get out. Although I couldn’t do that, I did represent the family in their successful asylum case.

The elation I felt at helping obtain that family’s release and securing their future coupled with the horror I felt at seeing children in jail made my choice easy: I will spend my career fighting for justice and dignity for immigrants.
