The Missouri State Records mission is to grant every person the right to detect, obtain, preview and examine public records, ensuring that residents of the state of Missouri are provided access to such information in correspondence with the Missouri Public Records Act and Missouri Sunshine Act, both ruling in favor of keeping public records open and accessible to general public.
The purpose of the requester is generally immaterial and does not affect a person’s right to obtain access to public records, thus stating that the requester/citizen does not have to reveal a “need to know,” unless the legislature has expressively stated otherwise.
Missouri State Records grants information about the following subjects: Criminal Records, Court Records, Vital Records and State Background Checks, including the information in the number of over 50 million public records.
The state has kept the state-wide index of the Missouri State Records. You can get the record from the comfort of your home.
