Education/Training
Ted graduated from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 1999 with a Juris Doctor degree, and the University of Florida College of Law in 2000 with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation, regularly ranked second in the nation for all Graduate Tax Programs in the United States. Ted has been a Louisiana Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1995, and worked for the international tax consulting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, as well as the Louisiana Land and Exploration Company. In 1996 he obtained his Master of Science Degree in Accounting with a concentration in Taxation from the University of New Orleans after completing UNO's Pre-CPA Program. Before completing the Pre-CPA Program, Ted earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from UNO in 1992.
Bio
Ted Vicknair, J.D., LL.M. (Tax), CPA, is the President of the Asset Protection Law Center. Ted has worked in the tax consulting field for over 18 years and has been certified by the Louisiana State Bar Association as an Estate Planning and Administration Specialist as well as a Tax Law Specialist. Ted is also a Louisiana Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Ted regularly represents clients with large as well as small estates, including representing clients in all matters involving Louisiana asset protection, estate planning, medicaid planning, medicaid applications, tax planning, irrevocable, revocable, and charitable trusts, Louisiana wills, incapacity, probate, contested wills and succession administration, elder law, and tax compromises with the Internal Revenue Service and the Louisiana Department of Revenue.
Ted is licensed to practice before all Louisiana courts, including the Louisiana Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, and the U.S. Tax Court. He also regularly represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the Louisiana Department of Revenue. Ted regularly attends continuing legal education seminars addressing the concerns of Louisiana Estate Planning and Administration Specialists and Tax Law Specialists, as well as continuing accounting education addressing the ever-changing tax laws and other accounting matters.
On request, Ted gives seminars which give information to help the public solve their estate and probate problems, tax problems, asset protection problems, and business law problems. Ted’s hobbies include spending time with his family, following the Saints, fishing, gardening and reading.
