After 21 years working in a small law firm, in 2003 I had the opportunity to launch my own solo practice. This decision allowed me to continue to develop my niche practice in personal injury and wrongful death and get more involved in the community as a speaker, writer and volunteer.
I enjoy what I do and after 30 years, I am pretty good at what I do. My goal is to obtain fair compensation for individuals and families and help them put their lives back together.

Tom Gelwicks has instructed Ohio lawyers with lectures on evidentiary requirements, trial strategy and arbitration/mediation techniques. He has written for commercial publications on the influence of law in our daily lives.
He has served as Chairman in arbitration hearings and he also has represented many clients in hearings involving injury claims. Mr. Gelwicks has generously shared his expertise with others regarding the subtle and interwoven strategies for successful arbitration and mediation advocacy.
For decades, Tom Gelwicks has been a member in good standing of the United States District Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. He successfully has argued cases before the state Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
His most noteworthy achievement, in the appellate review system, has been Stanton v. Nationwide. This case substantially widened the scope of recovery after prevailing in the Supreme Court of Ohio. The Stanton case was heralded as significant by the national publication Lawyers USA.

Thomas GelwicksA trial and settlement attorney since 1982, Tom Gelwicks offers personalized representation for the injured of Cincinnati and southwest Ohio. His practice is strictly limited to accident and injury law.
Mr. Gelwicks was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and Syracuse, New York. He is a magna cum laude graduate of American University. He lived in Washington, DC before moving to Cincinnati.
Tom Gelwicks worked his way through law school as a law clerk for Hamilton County Common Pleas judges. In that capacity, Mr. Gelwicks researched and helped to make decisions on significant cases pending in local civil cases. He learned well the courthouse culture and how to most effectively represent the interests of clients. By the time Mr. Gelwicks completed law school, he had observed countless trials involving outstanding litigators.
