Practice Information

In my day-to-day, I provide clients with counsel focusing exclusively on matters of IP law, for example invention patentability analysis, patent infringement avoidance strategy (i.e., Freedom-to-Operate and design-around), patent application preparation and prosecution, brand strategy, trademark clearance, trademark prosecution, related IP licensing strategy and negotiation, related IP litigation strategy and counsel, and IP due diligence.

Bio:

I am an intellectual property attorney and a registered Patent Attorney. Specifically, I have experience working with medical device innovators as both corporate and outside counsel. In fact, to further enhance my technical capacity in this industry, I am currently enrolled in a Masters degree in Bioengineering, which I will complete in May, 2013. Of relevance, I am Board Certified in Intellectual Property Law by the Florida Bar Association. Only 7% of eligible Florida Bar member attorneys are board certified. Further, Board Certified attorneys are the only Florida attorneys allowed to identify themselves as “Specialist” or “Expert” in their respective practice area. Board Certification is achieved by satisfying the following requirements: a minimum years of practice, evaluation of work product, peer review and receiving a passing score on the 6hr certification exam. Outside of the office, I am an Associate in the Atlanta IP Inn of Court and currently hold leadership positions in the Atlanta Bar Association's IP Section and the Small Firm Section. And, in 2011 I completed the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy.
