California anti-discrimination laws and federal/civil rights laws provide extensive protection for employees from discrimination in the workplace. The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) ensures that employees in the private sector can engage in concerted activity, particularly through unions, with respect to their wages, hours and working conditions, and regulates the means by which employers and unions can negotiate collective bargaining contracts. Ms. Holguin has extensive labor experience handling unfair labor practice matters, union arbitrations, and contract negotiations. |

Bio: |
Ms. Holguin is a native Californian whose family were the original Californios. A member of the California State Bar, Ms. Holguin is licensed to practice before the courts of California; the U.S. District Court for the Central and Southern Districts of California; the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
Prior to opening her office, Ms. Holguin worked as in-house employment counsel for Hughes Aircraft Company when it was the largest employer in California with over 80,000 employees. Ms. Holguin was also an attorney with the then known boutique labor firm of Tyre & Kamins in Century City, California where she handled union matters including contract negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, and NLRB and federal court matters. |
