Employment Law Firm

Kingston Reid

Level 29/108 St Georges Terrace
Perth, WA, Australia 6000
Among Australia’s employment law firms, Kingston Reid stands apart as a specialist that acts exclusively for employers. The firm was founded in 2019 by a group of lawyers who broke from convention to build something new: a practice that pairs deep expertise in workplace law with a modern, responsive way of working. That approach prioritises clarity, collaboration and purpose, and it has fuelled the firm’s growth. In just a few years, Kingston Reid has built a national presence and become Australia’s largest workplace law firm, trusted by leading organisations and government employers to solve their most complex workplace challenges. The firm has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as well as regional offices in Newcastle (NSW) and Bunbury (WA).
The firm’s expertise spans three practice areas: employment, workplace relations, and safety and regulatory. Because workplace law is all it does, Kingston Reid can focus entirely on helping employers navigate the legal and operational complexities of managing a workforce. Its aim is to cut through that complexity with clear, expert guidance that turns challenges into opportunities and helps clients act decisively. Employers can call on a workplace lawyer for day-to-day advice, or an experienced unfair dismissal lawyer when a claim needs to be defended before the Fair Work Commission.
Five values shape how the firm works with clients and with each other. Its lawyers are frank, fearless and fantastic, giving honest, practical, to-the-point advice and acting with integrity. They walk in their clients’ shoes, taking the time to understand each business and what matters most to it. They think big and stay curious, embracing change and using imagination to drive innovation. They aim to delight clients through exceptional service and support. And they are motivated, spirited and ambitious, always seeking the best outcomes for the people they work with.
The firm’s name carries a piece of Australian history. Charles Kingston helped draft the Australian Constitution and the Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1904, while George Reid, a lawyer, NSW Premier and later Prime Minister, secured the Act’s passage after a turbulent path through Parliament. That legislation became the foundation for Australia’s laws on employment, unions, discrimination and workplace safety.
Beyond client work, Kingston Reid is committed to social and human rights through its pro bono program. As a signatory to the National Pro Bono Target, it provides workplace advice and representation to not-for-profit and community organisations, and contributes to legal education, advocacy and policy reform.
The firm also works alongside a network of valued partners, including Azuhr, a national HR consultancy; Ombpoint, Australia’s first independent workplace resolution support service; and Ius Laboris, an award-winning global alliance of employment law specialists operating in more than 50 countries.
